Sarah Wroe has an MA (First Class) in law from the University of Cambridge. She has been a litigator since 1998 when she began her career as a barrister in England & Wales. In 2011 she was admitted to practise as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand and has been at the independent bar since 2017.
Sarah acts for a broad range of clients in commercial and civil disputes. She has particular expertise in property-related disputes including building defects, unit title disputes and issues arising from the ownership, inheritance, and sale and purchase or leasing of property. She has also acted for insurers and policyholders in insurance litigation. She can provide advice on coverage issues and representation in negotiations or litigation. Her general practice includes contractual disputes, Fair Trading Act, product liability and emergency applications. Sarah has appeared in the courts at every level in New Zealand, and in the High Court and Court of Appeal of the Cook Islands and is regularly involved in mediations and arbitrations.
Sarah’s sports law practice includes anti-doping cases, nomination and selection appeals, investigations and misconduct complaints. She is on the legal assistance panel for the Sports Tribunal of New Zealand and has appeared in the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
