Qinhao attended Auckland Grammar School and went on to the University of Oxford, receiving his BA in Jurisprudence (First Class) in May 2022. He was admitted to the bar in October 2024.

Qinhao is approved to provide legal aid services under the supervision of Paul David KC (civil and criminal) or Sarah Wroe (civil). 

Qinhao has published in academic and practitioner periodicals, primarily in the area of company law.
